PILOTS

Well-trained and experienced pilots and observers are the key to quality patrols.

Barr Air Patrol pilots average more than 10 years patrol experience and over 6,500 hours of flight time on patrol, which enables them to effectively communicate items of concern along right-of-ways to appropriate ground personnel. Our pilots and observers are continually trained in the latest equipment, techniques, and safety. They participate in six-month recurrent lines checks, simulator training and classroom training in such subjects as CRM, ADM and line operations.

Safety
Barr pioneered one of the first Safety Management Systems in the patrol industry, years ahead of FAA mandates. A robust quality assurance program, exceptional fleet maintenance, and unmatched flight crew and technician training ensure Barr is the leader in pipeline patrol safety. It is also a member of the HSAC Aerial Patrol Group Advisory Committee helping to improve standards through out the industry. Barr Air Patrol’s safety programs were recognized by Phoenix Aviation Managers with their Aviation Safety Excellence Award on November 17, 2009. Only the best performing aviation organizations earn this award as part of Phoenix’s safety evaluation process.
